Captiva Island is a barrier island on Florida's Gulf Coast. This tropical island is one of the most beautiful Gulf Coast vacation locations. It islocated in Florida’s Lee County just off the northern tip of Sanibel, on Florida's southwest coast on the Gulf of Mexico. Captiva has been called "Florida's Tahiti " and “Florida’s Caribbean ” due to its subtropical climate and beautiful beach.
Part of the unique beauty of Captiva is that there are no high-rise buildings or fast food restaurants to mar the pristine views, tropical flora and fauna, and relaxed attitude.
It is noted for its laid back easy lifestyle, breathtaking sunsets, and wonderful shelling.
Often compared to the Caribbean, Captiva's beach has white sugar sand, speckled by pretty and unusual shells. (The shells are not a problem with walking barefoot on the beach; sandals or water shoes can also be used if you have a concern.)
The beach is natural and not crowded. The Captiva beach is one of the most gorgeous in the world, and has been named one of the most romantic in the America!
The beach is "child friendly" and swimming is safe for all ages with a gradual slope at the water line. Activities abound including: surf fishing, shelling, sunbathing, bird watching, boating, tennis, biking and hiking.

 Directions to Captiva Island and South Seas Plantation
The island and resort are located approximately 35 miles from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, Florida. The airport is serviced by all major domestic carriers and some international carriers. International service is also available through Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. These airports are a 4 hour drive or less to the island.
From Southwest Florida International Airport (approx. 45 minutes)
 Turn right out of the airport onto Treeline.- In 3 miles, turn left onto Daniels Parkway West to Summerlin Road. *
- Turn left onto Summerlin Road and continue approximately 10 miles to the Sanibel Island Causeway toll booth.
- Past the toll booth, continue on to Sanibel Island.
- At the 4-way stop, turn right onto Periwinkle Way.
- Continue on Periwinkle Way until it ends, then turn right onto Tarpon Bay Road.
- At the first stop sign turn left onto Sanibel/Captiva Road.
- Continue on Sanibel/Captiva Road for approximately 6-7 miles.
- Laika Lane : Is two blocks past Andy Rosse Lane (the 4 way stop sign). Captiva Cutie is a on the left side of the lane.
- Wightman Lane: Is one block past Andy Rosse Lane. Captiva Breeze is on the left side of the lane.
- The South Seas Plantation Resort entrance will be on the right. 2424 and 2315 South Seas Plantation villas are located in the Gulf Beach Villa area. You would make a left at the 4 way stop sign inside the Resort, and go over lake.
- Sunset Captiva : The entrance to Sunset Captiva is on the left before you reach the 4 way stop sign in the heart of the village.
*A shorter route is to use Six Mile Cypress: go 3 miles on Daniels to Six Mile Cypress. Turn left onto Six Mile Cypress from Daniels. Traffic at US 41 is sometimes heavier than going straight to Summerlin. Six Mile Cypress turns into Gladiolus at US 41. Turn left onto Summerlin then follow from #3 above.
From Orlando (approx. 4 hours)
- Take I-4 West to I-75 South.
- Take I-75 South to Exit 131(Daniels Parkway)
- Continue following the directions listed for the Southwest Florida International Airport.
From Tampa (approx. 3 hours)
- Take I-75 South to Exit 131 (Daniels Parkway)
- Continue following the directions listed for the Southwest Florida International Airport.
 From Miami (approx. 3 hours)
- Take I-75 North to Exit 131(Daniels Parkway)
- Continue following the directions listed for the Southwest Florida International Airport.

Our villas are beach front or very close to the beach. The following map is not true to scale:
South Seas Plantation Beach Villas area beach front.
Captiva Breeze is under a 3 minute walk to the beach.
Captiva Cutie is a 2.5 minute or less walk to the beach.
All the properties are in walking distance to the village where there are some wonderful shops and restaurants. Most of the restaurants are on Andy Rosse Lane or Captiva Drive.
